Earlier this week, it was reported that Hancock Health Hospital in Greeenfield, Indiana was struck by ransomware late last week. Today, Hancock Health CEO, Steve Long, stated that while backups were available, it could have taken “days, maybe even weeks,” to get back to full operation again. It was decided that they would pay the $55,000 ransom (4 bitcoin) instead of wait for the restoration process to be completed.
